2022 Lincoln Aviator vs. 2022 Land Rover Discovery

The 2022 Lincoln Aviator is given high marks among the luxury midsize SUVs that you will find out there. Thanks to its intuitive and reliable technologies, its long list of driver aids, and a swift engine to match its sturdy construction, and you will love the ride even more.

Looking posh inside, the 2022 Land Rover discovery has great off-road capabilities. It is a cushy ride, just like the Aviator, and is fitted with the right materials inside as well. These two cars do not have major changes when placed side-by-side their predecessors.

Design & Style

Sitting seven comfortably in its well-appointed interior, do take note that the third row is best left for kids to get the configuration that it promises.

Technology & Safety

Blessed with a 10.1-inch touch screen display mounted highly on the dashboard, the SYNC 3 infotainment system is just within reach and sight. It is supported by audio and climate controls that are as reliable as ever. It also integrates Amazon Alexa aside from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus it has 10 speakers, four USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi hot spot and satellite radio. It carries the MyKey feature for secondary drivers, as well as pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights as part of its safety aids.

The 2022 Discovery has a larger infotainment display for its Pivi Pro interface. This measures 11.4 inches and is one reliable setup. While that is the case, it still does not compare with all other technologies in the Lincoln since it does not offer Amazon Alexa, and Wi-Fi hot spot. It only has eight speakers too. Safety wise, it has vehicle exit warning, surround-view parking camera system, driver drowsiness monitoring, and traffic sign recognition, but it does not offer pedestrian detection, and automatic high-beam headlights.

Performance

Get a thrilling ride regardless of the model that you get for the 2022 Aviator. Under the hood of its base version, you get a reliable twin-turbo V6 that hits 400 horsepower. The plug-in hybrid version, meanwhile, records up to 494 horsepower in terms of results.

In the case of the Discovery, your engine options start from the four-cylinder turbo engine that can yield only 296 horsepower. The more robust driving experience can be enjoyed with the turbo-six setup, but this one can only reach a meager 355 horsepower.

The Bottom Line

The 2022 Land Rover Discovery may look good and take some extra points for that, but, overall, the 2022 Lincoln Aviator still defeats it in terms of styling. The latter is also better in terms of technologies and engine performance, making it a better luxury midsize SUV when compared to its Land Rover counterpart.
