While both models have bold, sporty looks, Lincoln's SUV is sleeker and more attractive than its competition. In terms of interior design, we see no difference at all between these two heavyweights; both look great in either color combination and have nice features like integrated iPhone docks, wireless charging, and heated/cooled seats. The base model does come with a bit more tech than its Japanese rival (no Apple CarPlay for you!), but it's nothing that can't be solved with an aftermarket upgrade.

Technology & Safety

Both vehicles feature automatic braking, a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, as well as lane-departure warnings. The Acura adds adaptive cruise control, while the Lincoln adds head-up display and semi-autonomous driving capabilities with its LaneSense system. Performance

The standard engine in both cars is a 3.5L V6 engine that produces 400 @ 5,500 rpm Horsepower and 415 @ 2,750 rpm Torque. The machine also comes paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly and seamlessly, providing strong acceleration and deceleration without excessive noise or vibrations. The 2022 Acura MDX features an all-new 3 liter, 24 valves direct-injection twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 365 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 350 lb-ft of torque from 1400 to 4400 rpm; in our experience, it makes for a smoother ride as well.

The Bottom Line

Either of these luxury SUVs is a good choice if you want a vehicle that does it all. Both offer distinct advantages and will appeal to different people in different ways; it really just comes down to personal taste and preference when it comes to choosing between them. 2022 Lincoln Aviator is a luxury crossover SUV; while it doesn't have quite as much storage space as its closest competitor, it makes up for that shortcoming with its larger seating capacity and greater fuel efficiency rating.
